CNet Training’s Technical Instructor, Leland Sparks, will be presenting at AFCOM’s Data Center World Conference in LA on April 4, 2017.
The presentation entitled, ‘Preparing for, and Effective Implementation of DCIM’, will unravel the complexities and differences of data center infrastructure management and will explore the best methods to prepare and implement it, including considering existing infrastructure equipment coupled with how to identify efficiencies and the benefits and savings associated with this.
By the end of the presentation, those attending will understand what DCIM is and how to manage a passive DCIM. The presentation will also draw on the importance of importing IT infrastructure information into DCIM, using commissioning documentation to establish a base line and using DCIM for capacity planning of power, cooling, space and IT infrastructure.
Leland has 35 years of experience within the telecommunications industry and has worked on global projects for many multinational organizations including Belden, Hitachi and Alcatel in addition to being a Director of Disaster Recovery for five years at insurance company Radian Guarantee, responsible for design and implementation of a global recovery plan. He has also been responsible for designing and building data centers including cable infrastructure, active electronics and server integration. Leland now focusses on delivering data center programs from the Global Data Center Education Framework and his breadth of knowledge and experience provides added value for his students.
