Inside Networks 2013 Charity Golf Day raises £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support!
Inside Networks is delighted to report that the 2013 Charity Golf Day raised £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This fantastic sum was the culmination of a great day’s golfing at the prestigious Hanbury Manor PGA Championship Course in Ware, Hertfordshire, which was followed by a three-course dinner, prize giving and charity raffle.
Co-hosted by Computacenter, which also sponsored the photography for the day, and CNet Training, almost 100 people turned out to make this year’s event the best ever and it provided a welcome opportunity for all areas of the industry to network. Andrew Stevens, managing director of CNet Training, commented,
“The support that the 2013 Charity Golf Day received was incredible and the generosity of those who sponsored the event and provided raffle prizes was truly outstanding.”
Winner of the Nearest the Pin competition sponsored by Excel was Fred French of TE Connectivity, while Richard Brewster of RADD Telecoms won the Longest Drive accolade. The Slice Golf and Events sponsored Beat the Pro competition saw nine people emerge victorious, with Mark Carey being judged the winner overall.
The CNet Training sponsored Team competition was won by Datwyler, with team members Matt Kidd and Paul Hunter also coming first and second respectively in the Individual event, with Andy Coates of ACI Integrated Solutions taking third spot. Datwyler team captain, Paul Cattell, said,
“The course, facilities and hospitality were all fantastic and it was the best day out of the office for a long time. Our inexperienced inconsistency seemingly helped our score, as we took it in turns to play well. It was, however, a complete shock to find that we had won the event!”
Plans are already underway for next year’s Charity Golf Day and the date will be announced soon. In the meantime, those interested in taking part are advised to register early, as places are limited. Rob Shepherd, editor of Inside Networks concluded,
“I would like to extend my thanks to all the players, sponsors and organisers – in particular Andrew Stevens and Neal Silverstein – for making the event such a success. Raising £5,000 for such a worthwhile and important cause as Macmillan Cancer Support is an amazing achievement and I’m very proud to be part of an industry that is able to demonstrate this level of generosity in these tough times.”
