Technical Developer (Data Centre) - UK Based

Join the Global Leader in Technical Education for the Digital Infrastructure Industry Sectors.

Due to the continuing growth in the demand for professional data centre education, CNet Training is expanding its technical team. The company requires a technical developer to assist in the development of data centre technical and management education programs as part of a busy team. This is a full-time role and global travel may be required.

The role involves working as part of the technical development team to deliver the high-quality education programs that form The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework. Reporting to the Technical Development Manager, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of learning materials including written and graphic content. The developer is responsible for the delivery of the highest quality program material including PowerPoint presentations, assignments, case studies and assessments. You will also be responsible for delivering programs into the live Learning Management System (LMS).

The technical developer is also required to deliver programs to internal instructors for all new learning material through a robust Train-the-Trainer program.

The suitable candidate should have current and verifiable experience across a range of disciplines within the data centre and be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, confident, and flexible.

Experience:

  • Significant and verifiable experience in a data centre
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of data centre technical functionality
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of the roles of all teams within a data centre
  • Experience of managing employee development through a training and/or mentoring process along with any formal qualification would be advantageous
  • Contribution to the development of operational processes and procedures

A broad understanding of:

  • Operational processes and data centre management strategies
  • National/International standards and codes of practice that support and govern the data centre sector
  • Data centre facilities infrastructure
  • Energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Data centre resilience and risk management
  • Audit strategies and processes
  • The requirement for information management tools and reporting capabilities
  • A strong technical knowledge of data centre architecture

Data Centre Instructor - UK Based

The company requires an Instructor to deliver data centre technical and management education programs as part of a busy team. This is a full-time role and global travel is required.

The suitable candidate should have current and verifiable experience in the data centre sector and be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, confident, and flexible.

The role involves working as part of the technical team to deliver the high-quality education programs that form The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework. This will also include organisation of facilities and materials in preparation for program delivery, assessing learners’ performance, marking assignments, and working with the Technical Development Manager as required to develop new program material.

Experience:

  • Significant and verifiable experience in a data centre
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of all data centre functionality
  • Experience of managing people and contribution to the development of individuals through a training and/or mentoring process; a formal qualification would be advantageous
  • Contribution to data centre operational policy and process development

A significant understanding of:

  • Operational processes and data centre management strategies
  • National/International standards and codes of practice that support and govern the data centre sector
  • Data centre facilities infrastructure
  • Energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
