We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join our busy team in a hybrid role (home and office based at our HQ in Suffolk).

The purpose of the job is to provide operational guidance to ensure that the group’s compliance commitments are met. The successful candidate will also develop and manage all necessary policies, procedures and management systems that conform to applicable Standards, regulations and relevant supplier and partner requirements.

 Principle Accountabilities:

Knowledge and Competence

  • Maintain in depth and up to date industry, regulatory and Standards knowledge to facilitate the effective completion of duties

Plan, Implement, Monitor, and Improve Working Methods and Procedures

  • Design and implement policies useful in ensuring compliance with government and legal regulations
  • Monitor laws and regulations with possible impact on company business processes
  • Prepare and present to company management compliance reports useful in taking key business decisions
  • Conduct investigations to identify the root of a compliance issue to resolve it
  • Provide training to educate staff on applicable compliance procedures and policies
  • Liaise with the human resource department to ensure appropriate disciplinary action is taken against compliance violation
  • Submit recommendations to company management on strategies required for improved compliance procedures
  • Evaluate analytical procedures to ensure they comply with regulatory standards
  • Conduct risk assessments on company products and operations to identify risks and develop appropriate risk management
  • Ensure proper documentation of compliance activities for reference purposes
  • Liaise with legal partners to address legal compliance issues
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulatory development and trends
  • Revise and modify company policies to minimise risk of legal non-compliance issues

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as main liaison with Pearson on all qualification provision matters
  • Head of Centre and quality nominee of CNet as a Pearson BTEC Centre
  • Oversee Pearson Standards Verification visits
  • Oversee all third-party quality audits
  • Oversee managed IT services, cyber security, and digital transformation
  • Manage the environmental and quality management system including hosting Standards certification audits for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and EcoVadis Certification
  • Liaise and advise managers as required relating to contracts and agreements including meeting with customers or suppliers as required
  • Assist with ESFA, OFSTED and all other requirements and contracts where necessary to ensure compliance of the Company’s apprenticeship provision
  • Assist with the requirements of the Company’s status as an Associate College of Anglia Ruskin University
  • Assist with compliance to applicable data protection legislation

Control and Support of Colleagues

  • Understand colleagues and their abilities; provide training, support, and assistance where appropriate to facilitate employee development

Documentation

  • Deliver accurate operational documentation and reports
  • Be aware of all Academia Group standard documentation and ensure use where appropriate

Quality

  • Carry out all work in accordance with environmental and quality management system

Communication & Reporting

  • Feedback and escalate issues raised by internal staff, which cannot be resolved by you to the Board
  • Participate in and if requested disseminate regular team briefings

Promote Academia Group with the Customer

  • At all times represent Academia Group in a professional manner
  • Represent Academia Group’s best interests in all areas of exposure to the learner
  • Identify and escalate to the Board opportunities for expansion of services as appropriate

Identify Potential Problems and Formulate Solutions

  • Assist with proactively identifying risks to Education Framework delivery and escalate problems in a timely fashion to the relevant team members
  • Investigate and assess any specific procedures or working methods that may increase the viability of program delivery. Communicate any resulting actions undertaken to the appropriate team members
  • Identify and highlight any generic procedures or working methods that could deliver smarter working. Be proactive in the identification and resolution of problems, where necessary escalate problems in a timely fashion
  • As directed, contribute to reports for onward presentations
  • Review systems in use and help others where appropriate to understand and improve them

We are seeking a time-served professional from the digital infrastructure industry who aspires to create a legacy through the creation and sharing of exceptional learning content for the network infrastructure and data centre programs that form The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework.

This is a dual-skilled role - not just about what you know, it is heavily focused around how you can share that knowledge in a manner that stimulates learning.

Our ideal applicant will:

  • Have a recent history of employment in the digital infrastructure sector including data centre or network infrastructure roles
  • Have a considerable passion for the subject matter and the professional development of the future workforce
  • Be creative and innovative, able to use program design tools to their fullest capability and be prepared to learn new skills
  • Have verifiable knowledge and experience in a range of disciplines gained within the digital infrastructure sector. Examples of roles might include:
    • Operations management
    • Data centre and network infrastructure design
    • Facilities management
    • HVAC/Power specialist
    • Project management
    • Technical architect
    • Energy and sustainability practitioner
    • Network infrastructure installation/project management

A formal teaching qualification or experience of contributing to the development of individuals through a training or mentoring process would be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be available.

We would prefer this position to be UK based, however we are happy to consider applications from other locations across the world for the right person.

A formal teaching qualification or experience of contributing to the development of individuals through a training or mentoring process would be advantageous, or a passion for the subject matter you have experience in, and a desire to share your knowledge with others is equally desirable. You will be supported every step of the way and undertake the train-the-trainer process for each program you teach.
