Join CNet Training, the Global Leader of Technical Education for the Data Centre and Network Infrastructure Sectors

Due to the continuing growth in the demand for professional data centre and network infrastructure education, CNet Training is expanding its technical delivery team. The company require both Network Infrastructure Instructors and Data Centre Instructors to join the busy team. These are full-time roles.

NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE INSTRUCTORS

The suitable candidates will have verifiable experience in the telecommunications and data communications infrastructure sectors and will be enthusiastic, driven, confident and flexible in their approach. The role is based in the East Anglia or London areas for program delivery in the UK with some overseas travel as required.

The principles of the role will involve working as part of the technical team to deliver the high- quality education programs that form The Global Network Infrastructure Education Framework. This will include organisation of facilities and materials in preparation for program delivery, assessing learners’ performance, marking assignments and working with the Technical Development Manager as required to develop new program material.

Experience requirements:

  • Delivery of complex and diverse infrastructure projects
  • Installation of containment systems
  • Installation and termination of copper cables including UTP and FTP variants
  • Installation and termination of singlemode and multimode fibre optic cables within buildings and through external ducted networks
  • Construction and installation of network equipment cabinets
  • Testing and certification of copper and fibre optic cable systems

Knowledge requirements:

  • National/International standards and codes of practice within the network infrastructure sector
  • Records and documentation requirements for network infrastructure
  • Network topologies and design architecture
  • Certification and qualification of network infrastructure including vendor warranty
  • Mechanical, electrical and environmental requirements in support of network equipment

DATA CENTRE INSTRUCTORS

The suitable candidates will have verifiable experience in the data centre sector and will be enthusiastic, driven, confident and flexible in their approach.

The principals of the role will involve working as part of the technical team to deliver the high-quality education programs that form The Global Data Centre Education Framework. It’s a global role and travel is required.  The role also includes organisation of facilities and materials in preparation for program delivery, assessing learners’ performance, marking assignments and working with the Technical Development Manager as required to develop new program material.

Experience requirements:

  • Considerable and verifiable experience in a senior data centre role
  • Experience of contributing to data centre efficiency strategies
  • Experience of managing people and contribution to the development of individuals through a training and/or mentoring process.
  • Contribution to the development of data centre operational policy and processes

Knowledge requirements:

  • A significant understanding of operational processes and data centre management strategies
  • National/International standards and codes of practice that support and govern the data centre sector
  • Data centre facilities infrastructure
  • Energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Data centre resilience and risk management
  • Audit strategies and processes
  • The implementation of data centre information management tools and reporting capabilities
  • Associated job roles and culture within the data centre
  • A strong technical knowledge of data centre architecture
