Following the recent announcement from George Osborne allowing the data centre industry to have green tax relief, CNet Training’s Director of Technical Development, Adrian Jones comments.
This concession will only be effective if the industry does something about it. There is a need for data centre operators to maximise energy efficiency opportunities now by formulating and implementing an effective energy efficiency plan – capable of proving to the Government that the industry is driving forward.
An effective energy efficiency plan will allow data centre operators to take the right action now to improve present energy efficiency and also yield future results, however the absolute key is that it does need careful and precise planning. The CNet 7-day Certified Data Centre Energy Professional (CDCEP®) program teaches delegates how to establish future energy objectives, formulate an energy efficiency plan, and ultimately reduce costs whilst improving effectiveness.
The fact is, unfortunately there is no immediate resolution, reducing energy and achieving effectiveness has to be carefully planned and implemented over time.
