CNet Training has been awarded Associate College status by Anglia Ruskin University. This means that the Masters Degree qualification will still be awarded and overseen by the University and continues to be recognised with the same academic integrity of all other Anglia Ruskin University qualifications. The status confirms a long-term working relationship with ARU and provides CNet with responsibility for full delivery of the Masters Degree program. It also carries with it robust quality and academic standards, which CNet is proud to uphold.
The Masters Degree program is three years in duration and costs a total of £18,000GBP. We do have a payment option available which is to pay £6,000GBP at the start of each year.
This can be used personally or by a third party, such as your employer or Student Finance (where available).
We encourage you to apply if you:
- work in a Data Centre facility
- have at least two years at middle or senior management level in a data centre context
It would be advantageous if you have a first or second class degree from a UK university, or equivalent from an overseas university.
Those applicants for whom English is not a first language will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
You are able to communicate with the other learners at any time via the Learning Management System (Moodle). It is expected that you will engage in online discussions with tutors and other students and opportunities are provided for synchronous sessions such as question and answer sessions.
An optional bootcamp held in Cambridge UK regularly for those that can attend. This will bring all learners together to undertake three days of additional learning with guest speakers and plenary sessions, with social networking activities in the evenings.
There is always an opportunity to interact with the module tutor. You will be encouraged to interact via scheduled lecture sessions, question and answer sessions and through one-to-one support where appropriate. Tutors are always willing to help but this must be in keeping with the scheduled teaching hours allocated to each module. Contact your tutor via Moodle.
On average, you will need to commit 7-10 hours of study per week during trimester time, however this study can be taken at your own pace and undertaken when you have the time. Deadlines that are given for each module are strict and must be met. Anglia Ruskin University has a defined academic calendar and all assessments task must be submitted in accordance with this timetable. However, every effort will be made to support learners to meet the demands of a Masters Degree level of study.
The online distance learning via our Learning Management System, Moodle, provides flexibility and complete interaction every step of the way. All of the online discussions (video, skype, etc) are recorded and there are bulletin board style bases for live messages and support.
Online learning is mostly self-paced and therefore it is important that learners make time to interact with the online materials and activities. It is an expectation that learners will actively engage with discussions and online activities.
From time to time, guest lectures and live sessions will be available, and learners are expected to attend. Every effort is made to schedule the times of live sessions to accommodate global time zones.
No, you will not be asked to attend any classroom-based learning.
Yes. However, tutors and the program leader are unable to arrange this. Learners must apply for extensions for assessments, intermission from study or withdrawal through Anglia Ruskin University learner administration systems. Leaners are very strongly advised to contact CNet Training as soon as it is known that personal or other circumstances may require a break in study or extension to assessment deadlines. As this is a Masters Degree program of education, consequences for grades exist if learners simply fail to submit assessments or stop engaging with the program delivery.

While much of the reading material is available through the Anglia Ruskin University library, not all books are available as an e-book. You may feel that you’d like to purchase them or borrow them from a local library. Module guides identify prescribed and recommended reading and most academic journal material will be made available via the Anglia Ruskin online library databases.
The optional bootcamp program in Cambridge is included in the fees and includes most meals, day catering and scheduled social events. However, travel and accommodation costs need to be met by the learner.

No, there is no honor role or scheme for this degree.
Welcome week is designed to introduce you to the program and your tutors prior to the start of formal learning activities. It is an opportunity to let you look around the online system and register for all required systems. As you will all have access to the online Learning Management System, Moodle, you will have the opportunity to get to know fellow learners on the degree on the message board discussion portal.
You will also be expected to undertake sessions designed to introduce you to higher education protocols and requirements such as Harvard style referencing and academic conventions.
In some cases we are able to look further into your education for any different certifications/qualifications which we can accept to prove your English Language Skills. For us to do this we require to know your nationality.
It is not compulsory to attend the degree bootcamp, however we feel you would find it extremely beneficial to do so. The bootcamp is a great opportunity to meet the tutors and fellow learners face to face and to attend panel discussions with the industry experts. Throughout your time in the beautiful city of Cambridge, there will be a range of optional activities such as meals out, punting on the river and exploring the history Cambridge has to offer.
Attendance at the bootcamp will cost you nothing, however you will need to book and pay for your own transport and accommodation for the 3-day workshop.
The degree has been running for a number of years, our first graduation took place in 2018.
We do not hold summer semesters to shorten the length of the degree. The gap between learning allows a break from learning as each semester is demanding. This gap gives you essential time to reflect and apply learning before you start the next semester.
We aim to respond to all enquiries the same day. Once you have submitted your application it is reviewed by the Higher and Further Education Principal, this can take up to 3-5 days. If you are successful in your application, you will then be notified by email and you will be sent an acceptance form. Your place will not be guaranteed until this form has been signed and returned to us. Therefore, depending on your submission times, the application process can take as little as a week for you to be accepted onto the degree.
Information requested, such as your date of birth, place of birth, previous employment history and referees is all essential to different aspects of the application process.
- We require your Date of Birth as a unique reference, which is used to set you up on the online systems for your application and participation, once accepted.
- Your place of birth allows us to check that English is your first language, as part of the pre-requisites. If English not your first language we are then able to identify if you require IELTS or can provide other evidence of your English education/language skills.
- Previous employment history is required so the Higher and Further Education Principal can asses your previous positions and experience. This is an essential part of the acceptance process as it is a pre-requisite that you hold/ have held a managerial role for a 2-year period. Your experience will provide the Education Principal enough evidence to show you would be able to sustain higher learning activity and complete level seven assessments and reports. Some of these will be based on your own personal experience.
- Referee’s details are required in case the Principal believes a reference would support your application. It would be used to confirm your experience in current or previous roles. However, in most cases if your CV and application supports the required 2 year managerial experience within a data centre, then a reference is not required.
I am afraid we are unable to accept any short programs as credits or advanced standing for the masters degree.
