Certification & Re-certification

Certification proves that an individual has completed the learning process and achieved the stated objectives. It can prove essential as part of a career portfolio and will enhance credibility with current and future employers.

Certifications are unique as they show a commitment to life-long training, they offer the perfect portal to ensure knowledge, skills and certification remain current and up-to-date. Each certification gained from CNet Training requires re-certifying EVERY THREE YEARS. We have designed an online system that allows re-certification to be undertaken quickly and easily. Learn more…

Why re-certify your skills?

  • Provides new learning to bring your knowledge up-to-date with the very latest changes and technical developments within the industry
  • Ensures you are aware of the latest standards and codes of practice
  • Ensures you can continue to use your post nominal title i.e. Martin Smith CDCDP
  • Provides you with access to download the program material, enabling you to use this as a reference in the future
  • Provides certification of your status for a further three years

“The CDCDP® Re-certification was a good course, it re-aligned a few pointers I’d forgotten and it’s good to get back up to speed with correct standards references.”

Bruce Evans CDCDP, Project Engineer at Cable-Talk Ltd

“I’ve just recently re-certified my CDCDP® and wanted to share what a good experience it was. The course content was excellent and easy to navigate through and the exam very challenging but totally worthwhile. It takes a bit of time to work through all of the modules but keep at it, as it is so rewarding when you get to the end of your exam sections to see that you have passed. This has already reaped rewards by being able to offer consultancy and closing sales, by being confident and assertive in my knowledge of Data Centers and how they operate. I would thoroughly recommend re-certifying when required and encouraging your colleagues to take the CDCDP®.”

Jason Imi CDCDP, Surveyor at Computacenter (UK) Ltd

Qualifications

Qualifications are valid for life. They differ from certifications in that they are controlled by international educational bodies and are therefore recognized across the world (see the qualifications equivalence table). Whilst there are differing qualifications across many levels within the data center and network infrastructure industries, they are all referenced to the International Qualification Framework, so a recognized qualification brings several additional benefits compared to courses that only offer certifications. These include:

BTEC Professional Qualifications

BTECs offer a practical approach to learning, which is structured around real-life situations and can include both theoretical and practical learning. Students undertake a number of units to allow them to demonstrate their skill and knowledge.

They are available in varying levels – the lowest is an Award, the next one is a Certificate and the highest is a Diploma. Students can build their own qualification portfolio over time to grow in line with their careers. BTECs are also quite flexible in terms of the time allowed to complete them and at the end of the learning an examination is undertaken to confirm the level of knowledge achieved.

BTECs can only be designed by authorized and approved professional training providers and this allows the learning to reflect the actual needs of the industry as it changes. Training providers have to go through a rigorous process of approval by Edexcel – the BTEC examination board – and are the subject of continuous external verification.

All of CNet Training’s programs award BTECs or units towards a BTEC qualification. We also take part in a mandatory renewal process to ensure that all of the qualifications continue to be relevant and useful.

The CPD Certification Service

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is defined as ‘a commitment to structured skills enhancement and personal or professional competence’.

The updating of skills and knowledge is critical in keeping abreast of industry changes, maintaining professional competence and ensuring that qualifications do not become obsolete. Anyone who is a member of a professional body or institution is automatically expected to do CPD as a requirement of individual membership. In addition, most employers now require all their employees to undertake CPD regardless of role or responsibility.

The CPD Certification Service primarily supports organizations looking to provide CPD certified training activities. Individuals are now expected to engage in a wide variety of training activities and learning experiences. The CPD Certification Service’s experience and knowledge of its members who regularly provide CPD activities has enabled it to develop advice and pointers to individuals looking to undertake their CPD effectively.
